Is Binance in trouble? (2026)

Binance is still live as of Sep 8, 2026, but our sensors flagged 2 dated, sourced signals. Most recent: From July 1, 2026 Binance restricted services for users in EU member states after failing to obtain a MiCA license by the June 30, 2026 deadline. Binance had applied for a MiCA license in Greece but withdrew that application before the deadline, and on June 25, 2026 told French clients that its French entity could no longer accept new clients, with similar notices sent to affected users in other EU markets. The company said user assets remain safe and accessible at all times and that it intends to reapply for MiCA authorization through another EU member state. No speculation, no death predictions.

On June 30, 2026 a group claim by nearly 1,700 British investors was filed at the London High Court seeking at least 150 million pounds from Binance Holdings, Nest Exchange, founder Changpeng Zhao and persons unknown. The claim alleges that Binance sold risky, complex leveraged derivative products to UK retail investors from late 2019 without authorization under the Financial Services and Markets Act. Binance said it will defend the claim and stated it remains committed to its obligations to users and to operating in accordance with applicable law.
