What we do with data
Verdict is built to know as little about you as possible. Our own database stores no IP addresses, our page counter sets no cookies, and we run no ad networks. We do use Yandex Metrica for aggregate analytics, disclosed in full below.
What our own systems keep
Our own database never stores your IP address. Our first-party page counter records only the path that was viewed, such as /migrate/example, and a count. It sets no cookies and builds no profile.
There are no ad networks, no ad-company code, and no social widgets on these pages.
Analytics: Yandex Metrica
We use Yandex Metrica to understand aggregate traffic, such as how many people visit and which pages they read. Metrica is a third-party service run by Yandex.
Metrica sets its own cookies and Yandex processes your IP address on its servers to produce these statistics. We do not run its session-replay (Webvisor) feature, so individual sessions are not recorded.
If you would rather not be measured by Metrica, a browser-level tracker blocker or Do Not Track setting stops it. Blocking it does not affect the site.
Email, only if you ask
The only personal data we store is an email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to status alerts.
Subscriptions use double opt-in. Nothing is saved until you confirm from the email we send. Delivery is handled through Resend.
Your address is used only to send the alerts you asked for. It is never sold or shared. Ask us to remove it and it is deleted.
Links out to tools
Links to the tools we track pass through a /go/ redirect, marked rel="sponsored nofollow".
Once you leave Verdict for another site, that site's own privacy terms take over. We do not control what it collects.
The open dataset
Our public status data is which tools are dead, sunset, or declining, with dates and sources. It is about tools, not people, and contains no personal data about visitors.
It is reusable under CC BY 4.0 with attribution. The free status API at /api/v1/status/{slug} and the plain-text mirror at /api/md/ return the same tool facts and nothing about you.
Who is responsible
Verdict is operated by its editorial desk. The only personal data it holds is an email address you gave for alerts, and you can have it removed at any time by writing to [email protected]. As the project is formally registered, the operating entity and a postal contact will be added to this page.
For any privacy request, including removal of a subscribed email, write to [email protected]. Requests are handled by Verdict's editorial desk.
