Verdict earns money from some of the links it publishes. Here is exactly how that works, and the hard line it never crosses.
The short version
Some links from Verdict to a tool are affiliate links. If you follow one and later subscribe to a paid plan, Verdict may earn a commission. The reader pays nothing extra for this.
That commission never changes where a tool sits in a list, and it never changes a tool's status. Not once. We repeat this because it is the whole point of the site.
Commission never affects rank
Tools are ranked by relevance and life status. Affiliate availability and commission never affect inclusion, a verdict, or a position in any list. Not as a factor, not as a tie-breaker.
A tool with no affiliate program is judged by the exact same rules as one that pays us. Plenty of tools we point you toward pay Verdict nothing.
How /go links work
Every outbound link to a tool runs through a /go/ redirect. Each one carries rel="sponsored nofollow", so search engines are told in plain terms that the link may be paid.
You are never locked into that redirect. You can reach any tool directly by typing its own address into your browser. Nothing about our commission depends on you using our link.
What money never buys
A status of dead or sunset-announced is only ever set by a human editor after checking evidence. No advertiser can buy one, and no advertiser can pay to have one removed.
Reachability is re-checked twice a day from two independent servers. An outage is not a death, whether the tool pays us or not. The dataset behind every verdict, with dates and sources, is public under CC BY 4.0.
