Ctrl Wallet has announced it is shutting down.
Ctrl Wallet (formerly XDEFI Wallet) is a self-custodial multichain software wallet with browser extension and mobile apps, supporting sends, swaps and dApp connections across many chains. It moved under the Emurgo umbrella in April 2026.
A shutdown deadline has been announced. Move your workflow before you lose access.
Move funds out before August 3, 2026: either transfer assets to another wallet or exchange, or export the 12/24-word recovery phrase and import it into a compatible wallet (for example MetaMask, Trust Wallet or Phantom). From August 3 the app supports only recovery-phrase export; sends, receives, swaps and dApp connections stop. The team states there is no migration token or airdrop; any such offers circulating on social media are fraudulent.
